Tours and presentations are provided for schools or community groups within our partner municipalities (Petawawa, Pembroke, Laurentian Valley, North Algona Wilberforce) or municipalities from whom we receive recycling for processing (Madawaska Valley, Algonquins of Pikwakanagan).   Tours and Presentations are free of charge (groups/schools are responsible for transportation to OVWRC, with some exceptions).

Our curriculum based presentations are all adaptable for the various popular virtual meeting platforms in use.  We are working on short videos with accompanying worksheets for our most requested grade levels – check back soon!

Our Communications Staff are available to come to your school and give presentations on waste reduction, recycling and composting.  Presentations are geared to fit specific curriculum expectations related to waste and recycling that you may be covering in your class.  Tours and presentations are provided for schools or community groups within our partner municipalities (Petawawa, Pembroke, Laurentian Valley, North Algona Wilberforce) or municipalities from whom we receive recycling for processing (Madawaska Valley, Algonquins of Pikwakanagan).

You can also come and tour the Ottawa Valley Waste Recovery Centre and learn more about recycling and composting.  Our Education Staff are available to conduct class tours of the facility.   Schools are responsible to provide transportation to OVWRC with the exception of Grades 3-6 and Grade 11 Environmental Science.

Limited transportation spots are available for Grades 3-6 and Grade 11 Environmental Science for schools within Petawawa, Pembroke and Laurentian Valley.  Book early in the school year to secure your spot.

Community Group Tours & Presentations

Our Communications Staff are available to come to your location and give presentations on waste reduction,recycling and composting.   Presentation formats can be accommodated to suit the needs of your group and gives the opportunity for residents to learn more about what happens at the Waste Recovery Centre.  Tours of the Centre can also be arranged.  Ideal for Scouts, Girl Guides, Brownies, Cubs, Church Groups, Condo Associations.   Tours and presentations are provided for schools or community groups within our partner municipalities (Petawawa, Pembroke, Laurentian Valley, North Algona Wilberforce) or municipalities from whom we receive recycling for processing (Madawaska Valley, Algonquins of Pikwakanagan).
