paper leaf and yard waste bags filled and placed at curbside for collection

Leaf & Yard Waste Drop-Off OVWRC

Leaves & Grass Clippings ONLY are accepted at OVWRC free of charge (Partner Municipalities) and $50/tonne (Non-Partner Municipalities).  Leaves & Grass Clippings can be delivered loose or in paper bags.

Mixed Leaf & Yard Waste, Branches, Tree Limbs and Stumps are directed to the Brush pile and charged at $98/tonne (Partner) and $150/tonne (Non-Partner).

This change (effective January 2020) reflects the fact that there is a high cost to grind and process leaf & yard waste for composting when it is mixed with branches and larger tree limbs. There is no change to curbside collection.

Green Carts

  • Green carts will be collected on green cart collection days only.
  • When placing small, loose branches in your green cart, the lid must be closed. Carts that contain branches that prevent the lid from closing will not be collected.
