Position: Operations Department – Litter Picker
One (1) Position
Description:
The Ottawa Valley Waste Recovery Centre is currently recruiting a student to work in the Centre’s Operations Department. Reporting to the Communications & Special Waste Supervisor, this position is responsible for picking litter.
Responsibilities:
- Litter picking, raking, sweeping and general clean up.
Qualifications:
- Must have a social insurance number.
- Must be able to bend, twist, push, pull materials without restriction.
- Own CSA (green patch) steel toed boots.
- Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Must be at least 15 years old.
Schedule
- Various Weekday Evenings and Saturdays, Mid-April to Late May
- Weekday evenings: 3 p.m. – 7 p.m., Saturdays:8 a.m. – 4 p.m., up to 12 hours/week
- Schedule is weather dependent
Rate of Pay
Ontario Minimum Wage
Possibility of additional hours and duties (general labour) throughout the summer.
