The differential fee for unsorted loads was implemented on May 1st, 2008.   Unsorted loads which contain recyclable, organic and/or construction and demolition material are charged $100 per tonne, which is $30 more than the regular landfill tipping fee.  To avoid the fee, waste generators will have to implement diversion programs to separate/sort recyclables, organics, and/or construction and demolition material.
